Tips to Know
Visit prospective school prior to the
beginning of school; preferably at the end of this year. This helps with
navigation and meeting principals, counselors, teachers, and staff.
Practice school time routines 2 weeks prior to the
start of school. This includes sleep patterns etc.
Make sure schedule is correct before starting the
new year.
Talk to school counselor about the class
requirements for H.S. graduation.
Discuss with your daughter/son the increase in
levels of responsibility that will be expected.
Discuss importance of staying caught up with
homework esp. at H.S. level.
Discuss the benefits of keeping an agenda to
remember all assignments.
Discuss importance of NOT procrastinating on
assignments.
READ, READ, READ!!!!!! Read anything that you put
your hands on and read to each other.
