Academic Camp -
August 9-20 2010
Columbia School District is hosting a summer Academic Camp for incoming 2nd through 9th graders focusing in the areas of Language Arts and Math.
It will be held at Brooklyn Elementary and Columbia Middle School and run from
August 9, 2010-August 20, 2010 from 8:30AM to 11:00AM. There is no cost for this program. Transportation is provided for students living within the district boundaries. Attendees will be recommended by the teaching staff and given an invitation. Confirmations of attendance can be returned to school offices. If you have any questions, you can contact Wendy Hawkins

Columbia Middle School Vision
The Columbia
Middle School faculty and the School Improvement Committee continues to
implement their vision which was developed using the approved profile
of the learner as the foundation. This vision focuses on six categories:

Home and Community
Columbia
Middle School emphasizes the importance of a close relationship between
school, home and community. This emphasis is given relevance through the
following activities:

Use school as community recreation center

Develop business education partnership

Develop community service projects

Use field trips to increase understanding

Use community volunteers (seniors, parents, tutors,
etc.)

Strengthen student communication channels

Involve home in homework
