Make-Up Credit

SUMMER SCHOOL
Students are encouraged to make up failed classes at summer school. Columbia School District runs a summer school if enough students sign up for it. Students always need permission slips from their home school when enrolling in summer school. This helps prevent signing up for the wrong class by mistake.

There have been a few years that Columbia School District has not had summer school.

Some of our students have attended summer school classes at Jackson Public Schools or Ackerson Lake (Napoleon). You need a permission slip from us to enroll in summer school at another district.

Summer School schedules are set in early May. See your counselor for a permission slip at that time.

High School Summer School - Credit Recovery - August 9-27, 2010

Any 9th – 12th grade student needing to recover a Math and/or English credit can sign up for Summer School in the Columbia Central High School Office. Classes will be held from August 9, 2010-August 27, 2010. One full credit can be earned during this 3 week period. English classes will be held from 8AM to 12PM and Math classes will be from 12:30PM to 4:30PM. Attendance for the entire session is mandatory. In-District students will be charged $25/credit. Out-of-District students will be charged $125/credit. Transportation will not be provided. Please direct your questions to the high school office at 517-592-6634.

NIGHT SCHOOL
Columbia Central High School has a policy that permits only second semester Juniors or Seniors to take night school. See your counselor for a permission slip if you fall into the guidelines and want to take a night school class.
